University of Vermont Medical Center, Vermont’s academic medical center and founding member of the University of Vermont Health Network seeks a Clinical Dietitian- Metabolic/Outpatient Pediatrics Specialty.
The Clinical Dietitian plans, directs, and provides medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to pediatric (from infancy to age 18 years) outpatients in designated areas/programs. The dietitian is responsible for nutrition screenings, assessments, prescription of nutrition orders, ongoing monitoring of patients’ care, and documentation of care plan in accordance with department and hospital policies. The dietitian provides education to patients, students, community members, and health care staff, and acts as a clinical preceptor to dietetic students in accordance with ASCEND guidelines and affiliation agreements. The dietitian participates in department and hospital-wide activities pertaining to quality improvement, professional development and community education. This dietitian job responsibilities include approximately 90% outpatient duties with approximately 10% inpatient duties.

Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics; registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and Vermont State Certification as a dietitian required. UVM MC requires completion of registration and certification at start of employment.
Must have experience in providing MNT to pediatric populations (from infancy to age 18 years) whose needs include enteral/parenteral nutrition and complex dietary therapies. Experience in outpatient clinics and/or treatment of inborn errors of metabolism preferred.
