As a quality improvement coordinator and registered dietitian this position is assigned full professional and administrative responsibility to evaluate all Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) Department operations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies regarding health codes: The Joint Commission Standards , California Department of Public Health Title XXII, OSHA, Sacramento County, Environmental Management Department and UCDH Environmental Health and Safety Department. This position is required to develop and implement action plans that address quality issues, including patient services nutrition analysis, food safety, and infection control. This position will have shared responsibility for the nutrient data entry, recipe entry, menus, and maintenance of Hospitality Suites (Computrition). The incumbent will collaborate with other managers and analysts to ensure the functions of Computrition meet operational needs for the department. This position will be a resource and coordinator for the Food Service Managers and Nutrition and Dietary Managers within the FNS Department, as well as apply communication strategies to identify and improve patient care and quality issues hospital wide, including Infection Control, Patient Care Services, and Disaster Preparedness. This position will provide support for department quality improvement committees and projects. This position will create and coordinate training and education programs. This position will be responsible for quality improvement reports and to ensure policies, procedures and standards are in compliance with regulatory agencies and The Joint Commission standards. This position must adhere to HIPAA guidelines and respect confidentiality.
Sr. Dietitian Qualifications
Nutrition BS or equivalent or MS Degree in Nutrition.
Must be registered with the Commission of Dietetic Registration. Must maintain registration, by participating in continuing education.
Knowledge of food service management and clinical nutrition.
Knowledge of The Joint Commission, state, and county sanitation/safety requirements. Ability to learn University safety and sanitation requirements.
Experience utilizing Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
Two or more years of foodservice management experience preferred.
