Overview: The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food, Nutrition and Consumer Services (FNCS) nutrition assistance and education programs provide children and families in need access to food and to education about the important components of healthy lifestyles. FNCS’ headquarters office develops nationwide policies and regulatory support to ensure effective design and delivery of federal nutrition assistance and education programs. IBTCI seeks an applicant for full-time employment for one base year and one option year, who will work within the FNCS and plan, monitor, analyze and report about program status, attend senior meetings, review communications/outreach strategies, identify opportunities for operational efficiency, and recommend process improvements for government (USDA) approval.
Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
Review process improvement reports related to nutrition at USDA
Provide recommendations cross-practice in USDA
Actively engage with internal and external teams to assist FNS program offices to meet nutrition guidance and promotion goals
Coordinate with the Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion (CNPP) and FNS program offices to create relevant messaging and strategies
Provide assistance in oversight and recommendations to achieve goals outlined in relevant national and regional nutritional communication plans.
Facilitate and manage process improvement efforts
Facilitate and manage cross-program collaboration activities
Develop agenda and provide briefings and summary notes to USDA leaders
Develop and manage project plan reporting for the alignment of nutrition staffing
Develop and manage project plans for Administrator-prioritized nutrition-related initiatives
Provide monthly progress reports
Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated USDA program experience, highly desired
Varied, professional nutrition expertise, highly desired
Proven Experience in nutrition-related programming for the USG, highly desired
Demonstrated domestic program experience with USDA is highly desired
Experience in coordination of internal and external stakeholders, focusing on best practices and programmatic performance is preferred
Demonstrated experience identifying opportunities for operational efficiency, and recommend process improvements to USG clients, preferably USDA
10 years of relevant, progressive professional experience
5 years of demonstrated experience in coordination of internal and external stakeholders within a large organization
7 years of USG-related nutrition experience required
2 years of direct experience working with the USG (USDA-related program experience preferred)
3 years of senior level experience in identifying opportunities for operational efficiency, and recommend process improvements to USG clients, preferably USDA.
Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment.
Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in U.S.A. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
