RTI’s Food, Nutrition, and Obesity Policy Research Program seeks an International Nutrition Researcher with a PhD in epidemiology, nutrition, public health, or related discipline and a minimum of 1 year of relevant research experience in international nutrition. Candidates must have the ability to correctly conceptualize research questions, design and implement appropriate research methods, apply quantitative and qualitative techniques, and effectively communicate both orally and in writing with clients and project staff including non-technical audiences.
This person will contribute to building a substantial program of research in collaboration with RTI’s Food Security and Agriculture initiative. The successful candidate will be expected to lead proposals and projects for government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources to conduct research and evaluation of nutrition interventions and health behaviors in an international context. Candidates must have a strong desire to work on interdisciplinary teams, collaborate with researchers across units within RTI, and manage project teams. Candidates must also have an interest in contributing to the profession through publications and conference presentations. RTI provides extensive support to assist in all aspects of the research process. This will be full-time position in Research Triangle Park, NC.
PhD in nutrition, epidemiology, public health, or related discipline Minimum of 1 year of experience in designing, implementing, and leading nutrition studies particularly focused on women and children Demonstrated ability conducting studies requiring primary data collection and analysis of nutrition-related program interventions in lower or middle income countries Experience managing all aspects of research projects including developing work plans, managing project budgets, overseeing implementation, and managing project teams Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills applied to research and evaluation of nutrition-related program interventions Record of peer-reviewed publications in international nutrition Ability to identify and pursue business development opportunities Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel) Proficient with SAS, Stata, or other statistical analysis software Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task Ability to travel 25% internationally as needed for business development and project management To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship now or in the future Desired Qualifications:
