FDA’s Office of Nutrition and Food Labeling (ONFL) will soon be advertising, through USA Jobs, to fill the position of Director, Nutrition Programs Staff (Supervisory Nutritionist, GS-15). The Nutrition Programs Staff (NPS) is one of three major technical units in the Office of Nutrition and Food Labeling. The staff is composed primarily of scientists and regulatory professionals with backgrounds in nutrition, biology, and related disciplines. The NPS is responsible for the development of policies, regulations, and guidelines for nutrition-related labeling and health claims, including the review and evaluation of the necessary supporting science. The NPS partners extensively, in a variety of settings, with other government agencies, academic institutions, and other stakeholders, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH); Centers Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); United States Department of Agriculture (USDA); the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine; the Joint Institute for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition; the Institute for Food Safety and Health, and others.
