The Department of Nutrition and Health Science invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Nutrition and Dietetics. This position begins on August 17, 2018 or January 7, 2019. The Nutrition and Dietetics program is expanding in preparation of the grand opening of the College of Health new facility.
Major responsibilities: Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition and dietetics with a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service to the university and the profession; establish a focused program of scholarship and publish in appropriate top-tier journals; direct master’s theses and projects; advise students; provide service to the campus, community, and the profession, while supporting ongoing program growth and development.

Minimum qualifications: For Assistant Professor: 1. Doctorate in nutrition, clinical nutrition, dietetics, or closely-related field from an accredited college or university by date of appointment. 2. Registered Dietitian designation or Registered Dietitian-eligible designation. 3. Evidence of excellent teaching skills/some teaching experience. 4. Relevant professional experience in nutrition/dietetics. 5. Evidence of ongoing or established scholarship. 6. Evidence of ability to mentor or have mentored students.
For Associate/Full Professor: 1. Doctorate in nutrition, clinical nutrition, dietetics, or closely-related field from an accredited college or university by date of appointment. 2. Registered Dietitian designation or Registered Dietitian-eligible designation. 3. At least five years of nutrition-related teaching experience. 4. Relevant professional experience in nutrition/dietetics. 5. Evidence of ongoing or established scholarship. 6. Evidence of ability to mentor or have mentored graduate students.
Preferred qualifications: 1. Active participation in professional organizations in the discipline. 2. Ability to promote collegiality in the professional setting. 3. A strong interest in inter-professional pedagogy and scholarly collaboration. 4. Experience in online teaching. 5. Effective oral and written communication skills. 6. Professional, research or teaching experience in clinical nutrition.
