The Agriculture, Nutrition and Veterinary Science Department within the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a non-tenure Lecturer I position, to begin Fall Semester of 2018. The department seeks a high-energy faculty member to teach in a fast growing program in foods and nutrition that includes courses in food service systems management, quantity food purchasing, and food science. Applicants must have strong evidence of effective instruction and an interest in contributing to curriculum development. Major responsibilities of this position include: teach undergraduate courses in food safety, food science, quantity food preparation, food service management for dietetic and food studies students; advising undergraduate students; providing service to the program, department, college, and university; and establishing professional liaisons with external organizations.

Required Qualifications A master's degree in Nutrition or related field, and teaching experience at the college level.
Preferred Qualifications Dietetic registration, experience/expertise in culinary, food science, food system management, experience with accreditation of dietetics programs and a related doctorate are desirable.

The Department of Agriculture, Nutrition and Veterinary Sciences (ANVS) was established in 2011 to serve a growing need to educate Nevada’s agricultural producers in a variety of disciplines; continue functioning as Nevada’s one source for preparing students for vet schools and maintaining our high standards in the areas of nutrition and dietetics.
