Dominican University seeks applicants for a lecturer position in Nutrition Science to begin August 2018. This is a renewable, non-tenure track faculty position. Primary responsibilities include directing Culinology major, and teaching Experimental Foods and Fundamentals of Foods in addition to other Culinology courses. Other responsibilities include advising undergraduate students, managing a food laboratory classroom, managing undergraduate student workers, and maintaining professional competency and skills required for professional and academic practice. This person will establish working relationships with new colleagues in the college of Health Sciences, develop relationships with local/regional food and nutrition related businesses to benefit the program, particularly to establish volunteer opportunities in the community, and provide interdepartmental student experiences. They will serve on university and college level committees.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching at all levels. Candidate must be willing to provide students with opportunities to participate in high impact practices such as undergraduate or graduate research. All faculty members are expected to participate in University life and governance, as well as continuing professional development and scholarship.

Qualifications: Required qualifications: A Master’s degree or higher in food and nutrition with a related area of expertise? minimum of 5 years relevant teaching experience; excellent classroom and interpersonal skills.
Desirable qualifications: Credentialing as a R.D.N; experience with distance and/or hybrid educational delivery formats; proven administrative and organizational skills; a record of working successfully with a diverse student population; and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for disadvantaged students.
