The Ohio State University School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Division of Health Sciences and Medical Dietetics Seeks Applications for a Tenure Track Position Assistant or Associate Professor
Position Description: The Initiative for Food And Agricultural Transformation (InFACT), in conjunction with the Medical Dietetics Program of the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (TIU, 75%) and the John Glenn College of Public Affairs (25%) at The Ohio State University invites applications for a 12-month, tenure-track position at the advanced assistant or associate professor level for a food policy scholar able to work at the intersections between food, nutrition and human health at the local, state, national or international level to consider outcomes such as food security, obesity, consumer knowledge and behavior, firm and non-profit strategies among others. We seek candidates with experience in interdisciplinary research within community-based interventions, education, policy, and dissemination of transformational research. The ideal candidate will have a strong publication record, teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, and clear potential to develop an interdisciplinary research program firmly grounded in food and nutrition policy. The successful candidate should have a strong potential for external funding. Evidence of successful experience in working effectively with community partners/outreach colleagues is preferred.
This position is partially funded (50%) by Ohio State's Discovery Themes Initiative (discovery.osu.edu), a significant faculty hiring investment in key thematic areas by which the university is building on its culture of academic collaboration to make a global impact. The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to bridge disciplines and work collaboratively. The successful candidate will join a transdisciplinary team of over 50 existing faculty and many external partners working toward food security (https://discovery.osu.edu/focus-areas/infact/). The faculty member will initiate new transformative research projects with colleagues across campus and thus strengthen the university’s research on the role of food and nutrition policy.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have completed all Ph.D. degree requirements by fall 2017. Successful candidates will likely have doctorates in public management or public policy, nutrition, psychology, sociology, political science, economics, or a related field. A strong record of scholarly productivity in food and nutrition policy is expected. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications: Highly desirable candidates will have practical experience, university teaching experience, and experience mentoring members of underrepresented groups.
