Assistant/Associate Professor The Oklahoma State University Department of Nutritional Sciences is seeking a qualified candidate to fill an open faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor with a focus on Public Health Nutrition. The ideal candidate for this position will complement and extend existing research related to individual lifestyle behavior and/or the five core areas of public health (environmental health sciences, health policy and management, social and behavioral sciences, epidemiology, biostatistics), and their impact on health and nutrition of populations. This is a 9-month tenure-leading teaching and research appointment.
Position Responsibilities Major responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: •Conduct extramurally-supported nutrition research in the area of public health nutrition •Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition, nutrition education, and/or public health nutrition •Advise undergraduate and graduate students •Direct M.S. and Ph.D. degree candidates. •Work collaboratively and effectively with interdisciplinary research teams to advance the teaching, research and service/outreach mission of the Department and University •Participate in professional activities and serve on appropriate committees in the Department, College, University and profession •Collaborate with and lend support to Cooperative Extension and outreach
Education and Experience Requirements •Earned Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences, Community Nutrition, Nutrition Policy, or Public Health Nutrition, or a related field. •Additional credential (e.g., RDN or MPH) is desirable. •Assistant Professor level: oEvidence of strong potential in instruction. Willingness/ability to teach both large undergraduate courses and small graduate courses as needed by the department. oEvidence of strong potential for productivity in research, publishing and grantsmanship. •Associate Professor level: oDemonstrated ability in instruction. Willingness/ability to teach both large undergraduate courses and small graduate courses as needed by the department. oDemonstrated research productivity and dissemination in the area of public health nutrition and a history of successful grantsmanship. •Willingness/ability to develop collaborative teams around a research agenda focused on public health nutrition.
