Chapman University is seeking a tenure track faculty member to engage in innovative research at the interface of nutritional science, pharmacology, biochemistry, and food science. The faculty member will have a joint appointment in the Schmid College of Science and Technology (Biochemistry & Chemistry and Food Science) and the School of Pharmacy, with the primary appointment in Food Science. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in nutritional science, biochemistry, nutritional pharmacology, food science or related field with demonstrated ability to establish an independent research program that spans pharmacology, biochemistry and nutrition. Excellence in teaching is expected, and post-doctoral experience is preferred.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate on research and teaching initiatives with faculty across the breadth of disciplines represented by the two units. Teaching responsibilities will include graduate/Pharm.D. courses in nutritional pharmacology and functional foods, and undergraduate courses in nutritional biochemistry and medicinal chemistry. The ability to direct both undergraduate and graduate student research is required. Competitive salary and start-up funds will be provided.
